1a) A plant has roots which extend into the soil. It is likely that the process of root pressure requires energy, as metabolic poisons halt the process."

       In the early hours of Tuesday, August 23, new broke that the a raid by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) had left the commander of Boko Haram sect fatally injured.

According to the post, the embattled leader of the Boko Haram Haram terrorists suffered a fatal injury.

Nigerians react to the fatal injury reportedly inflicted on Abubakar Shekau following a raid by the Nigerian Air Force.
A statement by the army reveals that some other Boko Haram terrorists commanders were confirmed dead and they include: Abubakar Mubi, Malam Nuhu and Malam Hamman, amongst others.

In the wake of the development, Nigerians have taken to social media in reaction to the seeming uncertainties surrounding stories of Boko Haram’s Abubakar Shekau and the terrorist leader’s state of health.

Paul Olajide Obateru said: “Only God knows when our gov will stop decieving us, BH technicaly defeaated, shekau deade, shAkeu seriously injured. Dis lies from d gov shows their iresponsibility and unreliable.”

Dennison Origbo asked a question saying: “Is this shekau a cat with nine lives? How many times will the lying government tell us he been injured, killed and overthrown? He must have a resurrection power to keep coming back to life after being killed.”

Ugo David sarcastically said: “Fatally injured and he is receiving treatment @ dey emergency unit of dey national hospital. Presidency frown @ dey degree of injury he sustained nd has immediate orderd probe. Those who carried out dey unwarranted attack on sheaku shall be punished says dey presidency. A troubled Stan Onyi Umeh said: “Today shekau is dead, tomorrow is his wounded next tomorrow he (shekau) makes a video… Nigerian Army stop talking and keep doing the Job till boko haram stops killing and bombing or even becomes history as in dies a natural death… Too much talk and announcement is not a good strategy in warfare…as it puts the enemy on alert of what you intend to do…because they read these news in papers and listen to radios and watch television…”

Aliyu Muhammad said: “I don’t knw if the Nigerian Army are politicians. Almost all their efforts were not 100% success because they always disclose their plans…how do you expect your enemies not to re-strategise ..just go on until it is clearly defeated even though such could be war plan..but you (the army) too often open your intentions.”

Sigaloh Ndi said: “What is Nigerian army telling Nigerians? How many times has this man been killed or did he resurrected after three times death? Please let’s not ridicule ourselves. Nigerians are more wiser now than before so stop mystify reality. Keep your information to yourselves. Period!”

Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, yesterday night visited Ekiti state teaching hospital where some students of the Ekiti state University ‎who survived a fatal accident that killed 8 of their colleagues, are being treated.

The accident occurred when the EKSU students' cab and an 18- passengers BUS collided along the NNPC-Iwokoro Ekiti State University yesterday evening. Speaking at the hospital, Fayose described the incident as unfortunate.
"I sympathize with them. It's unfortunate. It's not a good news. It's one too many. We are saddened We have to take solace in God. Reckless driving and overspending has cost us eight lives. And some others in intensive care unit. I just want to commit them into the hands of God because there is nothing to say for ow rather than to pray that God should console the families and the people of Ekiti state"he said.

PRE-SEASON PREPARATION

Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas both cited

sacked on December 17 with the club were
languishing one point above the relegation

squad almost entirely underwhelming for the
majority of the campaign.
Chelsea will play in six games this summer,
with another fixture soon to be announced, as
the players seek to learn from the mistakes of
last year.
SIGNINGSSIGNINGS

Chelsea are woefully light in the striking
department despite the recent signing of
Michy Batshuayi from Marseille.
The club decided not to take up the option to
sign either Alexandre Pato or Radamel Falcao,
while Loic Remy looks likely to leave after
being linked with a move to Turkey.
Alvaro Morata and Gonzalo Higuain are two
big names being linked with a move as the
Blues look to bolster their options.
Chelsea have been acting on Conte’s behalf
to sign players since he was formally
announced but business has been slow.
The Blues will need to find at least one new
centre-back and perhaps look for a midfielder
as they chase the signings of Radja
Nainggolan, N’Golo Kante and Axel Witsel.

Chelsea last season conceded 21 more goals
than when they won the Premier League title
in 2014-15 as their defence crumbled time
and again.
Terry was mismanaged all season. The
captain was rushed back from injury which
only led to another, while a contract saga
hung heavy over his head throughout.
Branislav Ivanovic noticably lost at least a
yard of pace, while John Obi Mikel was
required to deputise in defence on multiple
occasions for the first time in his career.
As well as the issues posed by older players,
Conte has youngsters like Baba Rahman and
Matt Miazga who have yet to be given a
chance to convince.
It is likely the club will need to sign a top
defender with Terry expected to play a lesser
